KEY INGREDIENTS

Cell-Ox Shield® Technology: A key antioxidant technology in the Anthelios sun care range. It combines photostable UVA/UVB filters to deliver broad spectrum protection and powerful antioxidant protection. With Senna Alata, a tropical leaf extract known to defend skin cells in the upper layer of skin against damaging free radicals caused by the sun.
Glycerin: Derived from vegetable sources, it's an excellent humectant. It helps hydrate skin by absorbing water from the surrounding environment.
Vitamin B5: Panthenol (provitamin B5) is a key ingredient used in some La Roche-Posay formulas to help the skin feel soothed and moisturized.
Niacinamide: A form of vitamin B3, niacinamide is a water soluble vitamin. It is widely used in dermatology for its soothing properties and helping restore skin's moisture barrier.
Vitamin E: Tocopherol is a synthetic, more stable form of vitamin E. It has antioxidant properties to help neutralize damaging free radicals.

Addressing Barriers to Sunscreen Use in Athletes

Outdoor athletes and active individuals face frequent, prolonged UV exposure, placing them at an increased risk of skin cancer. While most athletes are aware of these risks, they often practice suboptimal sun-protection behaviors due to common product frustrations.

Our research addresses the unique environmental barriers—like sweat running into eyes, sticky textures, and white residue—that frequently prevent active individuals from wearing the protection they need.

Presented at the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) 2026 Annual Meeting, this published study evaluated athletes' real-world perceptions of sunscreen attributes and usage over time to help break down the barriers to daily athletic sun protection.
